Description
In the year 1870, a wonderful house was built - it had a wood-burning fireplace, a parlor with hitching posts just outside for guests, and wooden floors all through the house, even in the library. The address is Gold Hill, Alabama. Yep, Gold Hill. Maybe the name came from the hope of gold, but history turned it into hope of a different nature: hope for a promising life. The train came through Gold Hill, stopping just in front of the sturdy old farmhouse and unloading everything from the coffee to coffins. And with the train came progress. More houses were built and a Methodist Church just across the street. One hundred and more years later, the wonderful old house still stands.
