Eagles are large and powerful. They have relatively long and evenly broad wings that provide them with direct, fast flight. Like all birds of prey, eagles have very large hooked beaks for tearing flesh from their prey, strong muscular legs, and powerful talons. Eagles' eyes are extremely powerful, which enables them to spot potential prey from a very long distance. It is no wonder that nations have chosen the eagle to represent them and football teams have made the eagle their mascot. Beware of the formidable eagle!
