Description
Lead Me Gently - don't push me or pull me at your pace - let me decide how fast I can go and then walk with me as I learn my way through life. Be my friend. Be my guide. Be my encourager.
....................................................................................................................
Don't grab my hand at the wrist and pull hard. That frightens me. Just hold my fingertips and let me respond to the lightness of your touch. Let me feel the love in your hands.

Some signers think of American Sign Language (ASL) as a language of "concept pictures." An artist might consider it painting in the air. ASL is not a direct interpretation of word-for-word English; but rather, it is its own language, one that incorporates many elements of visual context. In this case, the sign for "lead" suggests a gentle touch. The hand doesn't grab the other one fiercely or indifferently. It gently touches the fingertips as a reminder, "I am here." The ASL sign for "gently" isn't shown - it doesn't have to be - the softness of the way "lead" is signed says it all.

This piece is mixed media. The artist used water color and acrylic, along with pen and ink, to create it. The result is unique balance of textures. Fine Art America offers this piece on canvas, as a giclee, a framed print, a rolled print (ready for you to frame when it arrives), a metal print, and as a card. It is available in a variety of sizes - some even quite large - and Fine Art America ships within just a few days of purchase.

Lead Me Gently. For a child, an elderly person, a special needs individual, a lover, someone depressed, a brother or sister in the Lord, a close friend - anyone that is reaching out. Touch their hands gently and lead them with your love.
