Description
This wonderful painting is a triptych, a compilation of three paintings presented together as one.The cotton grows whimsically, twirling and twisting delicately. Cotton is historic to the South, Southwest, and parts of the West. For many years, the cotton harvest brought wealth and sustenance to those who owned the rows of white "gold." Cotton was "King" in many states - Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, Georgia, and others.
................................................................................................................................... With time, farming has dwindled, and instead of cotton being the wealth of the South, industry now provides the bulk of monetary sustenance to most states. Global business is King now, not cotton. But the fields still bloom, produce their plants, and yield themselves to harvest - there just aren't as many anymore.
........................................................................................................................................ Fields of cotton are still beautiful. They symbolize the past as it gently unfolds into the future. Harvests are machine picked now. Huge rectangles of cotton are covered in white and blue canvas to shield them from the elements until the huge trucks come to load and transport the cotton. And in the field are the pieces left behind, brown stems with white fluff lying on the ground as a tribute to an art that has transformed with time but never was abandoned.
................................................................................................................................. This lovely triptych is available on canvas, as a framed print, a rolled print (this is unframed, arrives in a tube, and is ready for the new owner to frame), a poster, an acrylic, metal, or as cards. Fine Art America ships within three days of purchase.
