Cotton Fluff- out there in the field ... As I drive by the rows and rows of cotton, my mind always fantasizes that the cotton is already refined, fluffy balls as soft as cotton candy. I know that isn't how it is in reality. There are seeds to be combed out and processing of the fibers. But it's fun to let my mind run wild.
........................................................................................................................................... Cotton Fluff - up there in the sky - as fluffy as the clouds in the bluest of skies...
................................................................................................................................. Balls of fluff in a blue sky reflect the cotton from the fields like a mirror reflects images. The white balls of fluff float gently overhead, vying for my attention. My mind goes crazy again, imagining cotton pillows of fluff, just perfect for an afternoon nap. And would I fall through the clouds, only to land on the cotton fluff below?

Impasto technique is a style where the colors are laid on with a knife in layers. As each layer dries and another is laid on top, the painting begins to "build out," creating depth and texture. The result is cotton balls that appear to stand out from the canvas - balls of fluff.
